PageTurner Productions was established with a visionary purpose: To bridge the gap between literature and film within the realm of Christian storytelling. Akosua Busia, renowned for her performances in iconic films adapted from books; such as “Nettie” in “THE COLOR PURPLE”, directed by Steven Spielberg, adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Alice Walker. “Bessie” in “NATIVE SON” which made author Richard Wright the first best-selling black author in the United States. “Puppet” in the French feature film “SAXO” from ‘Le Grand Prix de Litterature’ award winning author, Gilbert Tanugi.

Akosua’s artistic relationship to great books, includes as screenplay writer on the film adaptation of Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning novel “BELOVED” starring Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover, directed by Jonathan Demme. Akosua is also the author of best-selling novel “The Seasons of Beento Blackbird”, which made the New York Times Bestseller list; and was chosen as a Book Of The Month and a Quality Paperback Book Club Selection. Akosua Busia brings not only her cinematic prowess but also her profound understanding of narrative depth and character portrayal to the helm of PageTurnerProductions..
